Just been up on some hills close by.

Seen about 5 good ones but it didn't seem worth trying to get pics.

It was quite scary though, I could hear rustling coming from a field and then a cough, sounded like I man. I didn't hang about long after that.

According to my mam a sheep's cough sounds just like a mans cough, first I knew of that!

Wait 'till you've had a horse snicker down your lug from the other side of a hedge on a pitch dark night!

Saw a handfull including a couple of nice ones that left trails. Best one had an orange tint to it. Cloud, streetlights and damned insecurity lights are really spoiling things though. Don't feel the weather is good enough to warrent a drive for dark sky.

I've seen a quite a few over the last couple of hours, a few really impressive ones and about as twice as many not so impressive ones. The cloud cleared to allow a good view of the latest ones- but my neck hurts far too much now so that's it till next time now I think. :D

Been out watching for past 30 mins or so, seen about 20 I guess, some good ones, still early as yet as the peak is some hours away I believe.

Nice and clear here, pity about the dreaded light pollution! Fortunately on this side of town its mostly fields to the east so not as bad as it could be.

Some great ones recently, one had a great trail.

I'm tempted to set my alarm for 2:30.

Hi

Hi mct :D

Yes it has been a good night so far for me and I have had quite good show.

I have seen some that were bright purple in colour and were fantastic.

I don't have any light polution here so I am lucky. Unfortunately it has started to cloud over

a little now, but I am very pleased with what I have seen tonight

Brian. :)

Been watching on and off and seen a few reasonable ones but just saw one that went across about three quarters of the sky and very bright. Going to have to go back out for a while longer I think!!

lost count now, the most ATM is 3 a minute, but not every minute. They appear from a very large area of sky so I can't get a photo yet its like the lottery only with neck ache :D

I resorted to a camp bed to view them. Some very bright around 3 or 4 max per minute. Mostly green and the odd red/ orange-yellow tip.

They are heading an all directions, but most are going SW. Bizarrely a small number have been going East :D

At least I have no neck ache with the camp bed method although I am a bit blurry eyed :)

Time for bed.

I was really disappointed :o Me and a few friends went out at 11 to watch them, but the cloud rolled in and we resorted to making images out of the clouds for an hour and a half. then just to take the mickey, when we had gone home at about 12:30 (still loads of cloud) I looked out of the window 45 mins later and it was totally clear, but I couldn't see a thing because the house isn't facing east :o

According to the BBC forecast it looks like it will be mostly clear for Northeast England and East Scotland in the early part of tonight.

How much weaker will the show be tonight compared with last night?

Thanks.

Anyone get any photos?

Clear atm but don't think there will even be half as many meteors tonight....

Might have a look outside later.

No I gave up and just watched from the camp bed (avoiding neck ache), there trajectories were all over the place, I lost count at 60.

I saw 2 really good ones about half an hour apart they took a couple of seconds to cross and burn up, they left me dazzled with the lines still there on my eyes for a minute or so.

I can see why Patric Moor Moved to Selsey. I am 15 miles away and further South, its truly dark to my East.

Zoe got 2 pictures and posted them in the Photography section. http://www.netweather.tv/forum/index.php?s...c=39899&hl=

No chance again for me, the skies have clouded up from the advancement of that front.... Oh well, maybe next year??? Any other meteor showers worth checking out this year?
