Here's a Times weather report from 3rd August 1934 on what happened on the 2nd and what the outlook holds.

In some ways, summer 1934 was a bit like summer 2006 with a fairly warm June, a very warm July but a collapse during August. There was notable heatwave around the 7th-11th July 1934

June: 14.9

July: 18.2

August: 15.4

Thanks Kevin, always informative.

Where do you get these fascinating articles from? Are you a Reader at the British Library per chance? Or do you have privileged access to these historic meteorological archives?

With apologies for being nosy.
