I'm afraid you will find the answer from the moderators will be that only pictures taken in the month in question can be entered in that month's competition. So pictures have to have been taken this month to be eligible for the August competition.

That is a female Sympetrum striolatum - Common Darter Dragonfly (90% certain) and a nice picture it is too

I didnt have a clue what kind it was also have pics of one massive sized bout 6-7 inchs it was huge! how do you tell the sex? by the color?

One weather pic from me for now. A lightning streak across the sky just above the Chain Bridge in Budapest on Monday night. There were some spectacular lightning bolts right above the Parliament Building, and I took about 50 shots trying to catch one. But I just missed nearly all of them by split seconds, and ended up getting soaked trying to keep the rain off the camera. But the one I got looks like the bolt is coming out of the bridge pillar.

I have some nice Red Bull Air Race and fireworks shots from Hungary's National Day as well which I may enter. Thankfully both were unaffected by the storms, which were incredible and with over 100kph winds. Same thing happened on National Day last year, just as the fireworks started - and sadly 5 people were killed.

Then again, I may wait to see what I get from Macau this weekend...
