Gale warning 0922 Mon 06 Aug

Northwesterly gale force 8 expected soon, increasing severe gale force 9 later

can anyone help, I was woundering when on the shipping forcasts they say later or soon. how much later or soon do they mean?

Northwesterly severe gale force 9 decreasing gale force 8 imminent

same with imment aswell. what sort of time scale are we looking at.

Imminent Expected within six hours of time of issue

Soon Expected within six to 12 hours of time of issue

Later Expected more than 12 hours from time of issue
