Welcome to the voting to select the best photos of July 2007. We're down to seven finalists in the weather related photo competition and five in the non-weather category.

Thanks to all those who voted in the first round.

So, as always, there can be only one winner for each category :good:

This competition was for photos taken during July. The winning shot in the weather related competition will form part of the 2008 netweather.tv Calendar.

Voting will end at 12 noon Friday 31st August.

Voting on the August 2007 Photo Comp will then begin a few days later :)

Voting is as simple as simply clicking in the poll for your favourite picture. These are the photos that made it through to the final round (in reverse alphabetical order):

Phil B and Essan B for me

Essan: That pic would have been snapped up by the press..it has everything: location, action, interest, etc, etc. And the St George flags outside the pub and on the umbrella are a great touch. Such a brilliant picture and tells such a great story. Fantastic B)

I did actually send it to The Sun :) And they even asked me to send them some more of my pictures. Which I did. But there was a problem with the emails and they never got them in time :(

Damn, can they not all be winners this month? So hard to choose between them with such high quality pics entered.

But rules are rules and I guess I have to try and pick...

For weather related....

Ermmm, ok, I am stuck between Weathermasters for colour, Shuggees for symmetry, peace and tranquillity, and Phil's for dynamics and capturing such an intricate picture of lightening.

I am going for Shuggees, for near perfect symmetry, peace and tranquillity.

For non-weather related....

All great but for being there at precisely the right moment and the energy captured in the picture of the floods that day, I am going for Essan's.

:)

Very, very difficult to choose. More so than normal ! But it has to be Mammatus and Essan B for me although I think all are excellent. I have to say I think Essan's picture is fantastic !

Many thanks to all the NW members for voting my photo, I'm overwhelmed by this. To be on the 2007 NW calender is a dream, plus my birthday is in July so it seems all that more special if I were to make the finishing line. Id like to say how fantastic all the other photos are and that were all winners really, some superb photos from all.

How tough a choice was that?! ;) Phil B's stunning lightning shot just edged it for me in the weather category. Hard to capture lightning at all but to get such a beautiful and complex strike, and to have it centred like that, makes it a picture I could look at time and time again.

And for the non-weather ones, I love the close-ups but for being on the spot and capturing the drama and atmosphere so well Essan's is a worthy winner. It could have been in the weather section as it recorded the July floods, and certainly would have deserved being in the calendar.

I think I may need to take a leaf out of Oon's book and find a way to cheat in future competitions. I'm getting a bit fed up of being a bridesmaid! ;)

I wish I was back there too. *sigh*

At least I know there's one person out there with some good taste.

Well in most democratic elections there are always photos of the residing MP voting for themselves at the ballot box so well done. I really liked your photo OON but I was just struck down by voter apathy.

Edit: Well done to the winners .... and OON.
