The sun crosses the celestial equator at 9.51am UT on the 23rd of September. where its position will be in the southern hemisphere of the sky for the next 6 months.

At this time of year, the rate of change in length of daylight is at its greatest.

Yippee the diagram is back! Yep into the dark half of the year now - can't say I'm a fan as it's already getting dark too early in the evenings now. Certainly notice the rapid change at this time of year with 5 mins less daylight in the evenings every 2 days.
