    I'll be Freddie, Shuggee can be Shaggy, you can be Scooby, Weather Beaten can be Daphne, and we could have John Holmes as the evil disused fairground owner issuing misleading severe forecasts so people stay indoors allowing him to get away with his dastardly activities.

    Such is the tedium of avoiding doing a project plan for a client combined with lacklustre weather as we wait for November to outturn around average that, whilst making my 11 o'clock cuppa, I did get around to imagining Net Weather - The Musical.

    Hopefully this is sufficiently off-topic that Os will move it to a thread of its own, but I started with - for no good reason - My Fair Lady.

    So - to the score of "All I want"...

    All I want is a high somewhere,

    far away in the Greenland air;

    cold hands, cold feet, cold nose,

    oh would - n't it, be luverly, luverly...

    Followed by "get me to the church on time"

    I'm getting snowfall in the mor-ning,

    "Ding dong" Eye-in-the-Sky will say,

    I'm getting snowfall,

    oh I'm getting snowfall,

    yes let it snow and snow all day.

    There's a nice passage where Eliza is practicing her consonants, marbles in mouth, using the phrasing:

    'In Abingdon, Aylesbury, and Ludlow, arctic events 'ardly hever 'appen': something's not quite right in there...have to work on that.

    And, to the tune (such as it is) of 'Why can't a woman (be more like a man)'

    Why can't our weather, be more like japan;

    why can't it just snow down all the time?

    Those pesky synoptics, that I view through my optics,

    just don't want to do the right thing.

    With an Easterly, you know where you are (Siberia);

    with a westerly it's just too mild by far;

    Well I blame lady luck , for serving up this muck,

    and leaving all that pooling too far east.

    Oh why can't our weather, be more like Japan?

    SF - I suggest you stick with the current medication for now, but I also urge you to seek a 2nd opinion at your earliest convienience..... :lol:

    Having said that I've just caught myself singing them out loud for the 3rd time... :doh:

    How about... To the tune of Good King W.

    Good Queen Elizabeth will look out, on the feast of Stephen.

    To see the snow across her Kingdom, deep and crisp and even.

    Everywhere from Wick to Poole will be bloody freezing.

    Which I think we all agree, will be very pleee, eeess, ingggg.

    I'll get my coat... :doh:

    Betcha can't get Oldham in there: I gather the odds are slightly higher on the west Pennine foothills.

    To Johnny Matthis's "When a Child is Born" ala "When an easterly is born"

    A ray of hope flickers in the charts

    A Scandi high is in our hearts

    All across the land dawns a new morn

    This comes to pass when an easterly is born

    A silent wish sails the seven charts

    The winds of change whisper in our hearts

    And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn

    This comes to pass, when an easterly is born

    Spoken

    And all of this happens, because the UK is waiting.

    Waiting for one easterly; strong, weak, no one knows...

    but an easterly that will grow and turn rain to snow,

    water to ice, green to white and children to their sledges

    and mild and Bartlett will be words to be forgotten forever

    It's all a dream and illusion now,

    It must come true sometime soon somehow,

    All across the land dawns a new morn,

    This comes to pass when an easterly is born.

    I'll get 'me coat

    try not to be nasty OON

    :doh: I remember doing this last year and there were some really good ones.

    I'm going to have a think and see what I can come up with.

    Maybe OON might sing them all for us and post a video :lol:

    Here's one:

    Oh little town of Abingdon

    How still we see thee lie

    Above thy deep yet snowless sleep

    The storm clouds pass you by

    Yet in thy dark streets shineth

    The orange hued street light

    At which you gaze for all your days

    In hope for falls of white.

    There is also scope for something along the lines of In The Bleak Mi(l)d Winter.

    And as for The Bore's Head Carol, well, too dangerous don't you think?!

    Excellent, although I fear people will make their own last line up.

    we wish you a very white christmas

    times 3

    final line

    To the tune of Jingle Bells

    Snowy skies

    Snowy skies

    White precipitation all around

    Oh what fun it is to watch

    In my centrally heated double glazed flat on high

    Repeat ad nauseum

    In the bleak mid winter, frustrated cold rampers moan,

    The Euro High stood hard as iron, the jet stream cut through stone;

    Drizzle and sleet had fallen, rain on rain, rain on rain,

    In the bleak mid winter, hardly long ago.

    Our Lord of models, Heaven cannot hold its crap;

    ECMF and GFS - us forumers fall into thy trap.

    In the bleak mid winter a hard place sufficed,

    The Lord God, Almighty Atlantic.

    Here is a quick one I thought of

    WHEN A NEW WEST IS BEST IS BORN

    A ray of hope flickers in the sky

    cause every chart shows a Greenland High

    All accross the UK Dawns a brand new morn.

    This comes to pass when a new West Is Best is born
