To the tune of "away in a manger"... I feel lucky this year. lol

Away in FI land a cold spell awaits

The forecast keeps changing: the 06z runs late.

Past winters dissappointing. UK snowfall is dead.

I will see my white christmas from an Austrian bed.

Away in a manger, we're at it again,

Another shot at winter will this time be ten?

We all know that it's doubtful we haven't a chance,

When the likes of Nick Sussex has pi**ed off to France!

But we'll keep our chins up as we're all off good stock,

The models will test us but we'll take the knocks,

We have a cold ramper who is more than a guest,

And if proven correct then West clearly is Best!

Now come all ye weather-nuts let's give it our all,

We'll be glad that we did when the snow starts to fall,

But if we as usual feel decidedly sick,

We can all go to France and then move in with Nick!!

To the tune of - In the bleak mid winter..

In 21st century winters,

Snow and ice is rare.

In fact you probably have more chance,

of seeing a grizzly bear.

All we get is mild and damp, mild and damp.

Is it any wonder, TEITS has to ramp.

In 21st century winters,

You won't see much frost.

It's because of Global Warming

Ignore it at your cost.

All we get is wind and rain, wind and rain

Yes I agree, it's an ass in the pain.

In 21st century winters,

Low cloud and drizzle rule.

Don't check the Scandi webcams

They'll make you bloody drool.

All we get is fog and mist, fog and mist

You all know what's next, so I will resist... :yahoo:

Here comes GFS,

here comes GFS

right down easterly lane,

Right up to the final moment,

driving us insane,

Will there be a blast of winter,

Or a foot of snow,

ECM says zonal flow,

and JMA don't know,

Here comes GEM,

here comes GEM

progressive to a fault,

Storms are conjured days ahead

from some computer vault,

Don't believe what GFS and GEM tell you,

Till you see it out your window, then it might be true.

:)

Hope you don't mind SF, not a carol but think this was in the charts at xmas time, poss. 1977. (Anyone can help me on that).

To the tune of "SOLSBURY HILL" (With profound apologies to Mr.P.Gabriel).

SHOOTERS HILL (S.E.London). An ode to snowfall in N.Kent and areas nearby.

Climbing up on Shooters Hill

I could see the orange light

East wind blowing, bitter chill

Blizzard blew out of the night.

It was something to observe

Feeling every frozen flake

Drifting, filling every curve

Muffled landscape in its wake.

I did not believe the UKMO

(Did) Darren Bett just say the word SNOW?

(At) least it WONT be mild, mild, mild. :)

Stevie Murr said, "Grab your coat,

I'm going for a chase."

("I'm Medway bound.")

To mild winters we're resigned

My partner thinks I am a nut

Global Warming is the whine

GIN corridor can't be shut.

This winter could be different yet

(If) highs settle where they need to be

Then "jet" she does a pirouette

Something stirs in the North Sea.

I knew what the smile on KWs face meant

Streamer just kicking off in North Kent

Radar showing red, red, red.

Stevie Murr said, "Grab your coat,

I'm going for a chase."

("Via Thurrock.").

Sorry Steve M & KW, can't afford the royalties. :)

Regards,

Tom.

Set to the music of Ding Dong Merrily On High

Ding Dong surface Greenie High,

Sets rampers hearts a flutter.

Polar vortex makes us sigh

As hopes go down the gutter.

Scaaaaandi, Scaaaandi, Scaaaandi, Scaaaandi, Scaaaaaaaaaaaandi

Won't be of much help either.

Jet tracks right through the GIN,

Those lows are really a bummer.

Look what far FI brings in,

By T0 it'll be summer.

Scaaaandi etc

Steve Murr says its faux cold

But it will do quite nicely

I'll be Richard-esquely bold

And say winter is looking Icy...

Scaaaaandi etc

He's making a list,

and checking it twice,

trying to find out who's ramping or nice,

Stratos Ferric's coming to town.

He knows if you've been ramping,

He knows if you've said cold,

He knows just who predicted snow,

And how much they have foretold;

Oh, WIB's a bad boy,

his presents quite sparse,

he won't get a toy,

just a kick in the *rse,

Stratos Ferric's coming to town. :)

O little town of Birmingham,

how still we see thee lie,

Beneath a stratus overcast,

about ten metres high.

But at Spaghetti Junction,

A million cars will halt,

If there is no more global warming,

It is not the Midlands fault.
