Agreed. He had his own 'style' of speech and emphasis which I really enjoyed. To think he was so highly placed in his field yet still had time to enlighten us 'oiks' in such a comprehensive (for the time) way! I have to say he helped me develop my 'thirst for knowledge' and probably formed the foundations for my geology degree!
