max here today of 14.2C, the average for October, December is settling into a very mild mean temperature so far at 8.7C, just 4.1C above the average, but lots of time to get that trimmed back.

Torrential rain and hail here for about 40 minutes between 12.50 and 13.30 today.

Strong westerly gusts throughout that period and temperatures down to 5c.

Now recovered to 9c and light rain showers. Windy and still gusts around 33kts.

It was very windy this morning, gusting around 35 to 40mph I'd say and the rain was lashing down! Not to bad now, still abit breezy but the sky is clear and it's a little chilly. But I suspect it's the calm before the storm, because according to the local weather forecast, there's the possibility of winds gusting in excess of 60mph at some point tommorow so this next atlantic system is one to keep in eye on for sure! :D

There really is total calmness out there now, it's almost spooky. This is an alarming sign of what is approaching, the last time I remember a calm before the storm like this one was the October 2002 storm, and whoever remembers that one will remember that was a howler! :D
