sloppy sleety showers (unpleasantly prolonged) at 200m asl well inland today, snow settling but probably melting at around 600m. woo hoo.

Well I was quite surprised to find a dusting of snow when I arrived home this evening!

Snow lying from just North of Pitlochry in Perthshire to Drummochter pass this morning. Nearly all gone by the afternoon though. Also quite a bit of melting on the mountains as the warm air came in.

Just been out hiking in the hills tonight. Some sleety showers but also some freezing rain! Looked very cool coming back to see the car covered in some ice. It's 4c here and just had a light wintry shower. (looked to be rain but the car windscreen wipers were collecting ice off it? )

Was some hail with mixed in snow during that lightning storm the other night but these are big flakes and its more steady. First snowfall of the winter, woot!

Internittent large wet snow flakes since 11:20, temp dropped to 1.8c

Wet snow has now turned to a mixture of rain and ice pellets. Temp' remained too high ( 0.8c ) for any snow to settle on saturated ground.

Hi - first post this year!!

Started with sleet at 3C this am but now 0.9C and snowing hard and starting to settle. Home is Hexham Northumberland and I'm at about 150m. Hills must be covered but I can't see them - too much snow!!

Had moderate snow for a few hours this morning before it turned to sleet then rain, left a thin slushy covering about 0.5cm

encountered mod snow with about 1cm lying in Peak around 1130 this morning, heavy sleety rain on low ground east of Manchester with snow above about 850-1000ft on all the hills along the A6 and A623 then on to the tops above Sheffield, for the Sheffield boys, above Ringinglow, about 1.5cm I would say.

Rain turned to snow around midday and left a 2cm covering before turning back to rain and drizzle by about 3pm.

Very nice it was too.

It snowed on me as I swum outside at Center Parcs....a weird feeling.
