XC weather is showing 50mph

It is really frustrating that there are not more 'official' weather stations on the west coast. There is Valentia which is almost south west and then Bellmullet. There is such a huge coastline between them. Shannon is a useless indicator as it can be blowing a real storm here and be calm there. The M1 buoy which was probably the best indicator of the wind speed for most of the western coast has not worked since last year.

Wind now gusting 54.1mph :)

Great site blackdown.

Happy new year to all you aspiring weather forecasters, my sincere advice is dont give up your present jobs, this coming year is going to be tight. After years of abject disappointment for the possibility of snow I have come to conclusion that the best advice anyone can give me regarding the weather is to look out of my window.
