Just about on subject.Could someone settle the my arguement. Two owls I believe are required for the t'wit t'woo call which is the male/female or does it vary?

the "twit twoo" two owls defending there territory, they are basically telling each other to f**k off and stay away.

Here's a website to give you an idea of the pier length... http://www.visitcumbria.com/pen/pooleybridge.htm.

As Oon keeps saying, length isn't important, its width that counts.

the "twit twoo" two owls defending there territory, they are basically telling each other to f**k off and stay away.

So eloquently put, you must be an ornithologist.

Not entirely correct acchos

A Tawny Owl never calls "twit twoo". In fact the "twit" or more accurately "ke-wick" is a Tawny Owl's contact call and the "twoo" or again more accurately "hoo-hoo-oooo" is the male's territorial call. Consequently, if you hear "ke-wick hoo-hoo-oooo" it is most likely a male answering a female (or another male).

It would look a lot taller to Wibs though.

Perhaps that's it!! Wibs isn't small, she's just very far away!

Oh bah bah bah bah bah to the lot of you. I may be small, but I'm perfectly formed. Well, apart from my temper. And my hands. And my bad luck. And my accidents. And now my shattered confidence.

And not being a moderator anymore - you must really have upset Oon this time!

He almost banned me.

He's evil, and grumpy, and nasty, and grumpy, and hairy, and grumpy, and irritable, and grumpy.

Blimey, that's taken you a long time to find out. Still he has got his good points.

 No you were right the first time........

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
