A much colder day with the max of 5c happening before midday under a dull, cloudy sky. With the cloud breaking from the E/SE there was sunshine through the afternoon and a steady drop in temp to 2c at the moment with quite a windchill.

temperature now dropping very rapidly down too 3c now cloudy some clear spells and dark too not expecting much tonight maybe the odd flurry but tomorrow well im expecting at least a dusting. but just seeing some flakes is good enough for me.

Wednesday 2nd January 2008.

The day started overcast and damp with a fresh easterly wind and a falling temperature up to reading time.

The temperature continued to fall steadily throughout the day, so by mid afternoon it had become very cold with sub-zero wind chill, but with a few bright spells, the temperature at 2pm only 2.5c. The wind was strong from the east.

The thick fog which persisted all yesterday and overnight eventually cleared around 1030 to leave a dry and cloudy day with an increasing east wind.
