    Hi Folks

There was a bit of frost on the windscreen this morning in Southend, so a bit of scraping required before I could drive to the station. There was a light mist around Leigh then the mist thickened as we travelled up to London, and London itself is shrouded in fog which is still thickening. Its a long time since I have seen this in London, although my car said the temparature was +1 degree on the drive to the station, with so much dampness in the air, the day feels like one of those bone chillingly cold late autumn/early spring days we used to get in the good old days :-)

    Cheers

    FC

3rd consecutive air frost and 2nd consecutive thick fog; spring!

then the past 2 days have seen temps in double figures in the afternoon with unbroken sunshine and no wind, so hoping for the same today.

lowest temp is now at -2.6C, one of the lowest in this so called winter.

Sunny and almost cloudless with a temperature, on the mast on the house roof at least, of 8.3c. I haven't been up to the screen yet but I wouldn't think it would be much different.

Thick white frost visible in the valleys. Oh the joys of warm anticyclones!

Yet another picture perfect day here, with not a cloud in the sky for the 4th day in a row.

Overnight min 4.2c, already up to 11.1c at 11am, with another 13 or 14c on the cards this afternoon. Apart from 6" of snow and a temp of -3c it's hard to imagine anything more prefect than this for mid February.

Morning TM, yes it just shows how marked this inversion of cold air is, even now at 11:15am, the temperature is only 3.8c, still plenty of ground frost in the shade. The same conditions were apparent yesterday, but by around 1pm though the temperature inversion collapsed and I recorded 10.2c around 15:00hrs, probably higher than your maximum.

Not quite Paul but very close, we managed 10.4c yesterday after a min' of 3.8c.

Currently cloudless with the Davis on the roof mast fluctuating between 14.1 and 14.7c; the 1998 record here of 15.5c is definitely under threat.

Beautiful day today, felt like we've fast forwarded a couple of months!

I would be happy if that's the warmest it got all year.

Looking at some North East stations it looks like it was about 12 - 13°C.
