Ill go for a month of variable cloud cover with changes in wind direction through the month although more westerly's then easterlies

Daylight hours to increase day on day

More snow on Scottish north facing hills then coastal towns in Cornwall

A CET of less then 13c but lower 10c in Scotland above 1000m

Any prizes for those with the most accurate forecast?? :cold:

I'll go for 5.9 degrees.

How I see things panning out-

First opening days - polar maritime/arctic maritime air will dominate giving increasingly colder conditions with snow showers in the north and frost to all.

I'm expecting by the weekend of the 8th for heights to have developed to the north and east heradling a spell of north easterlies for the second week which will be the coldest week of the month. Further snow showers for the north and east, gradually the high will sink further south into europe as we head into the third week. I then expect the rest of the month to be generally unsettled with westerlies or cyclonic conditions never too cold but never too warm either.

Not expecting easter to be anything special i.e. no snow or early spring heatwave, just average conditions for the time of year.

All in all quite a 'seasonal' early spring month

Reasonably average temps for early part of the month getting colder as we approach midmonth cold spell. There could be warmth for the last week or so but will it get scuppered like last weekend which shiowed much promise with +5c 850s very near by but it stayed rather chilly. In view of that it will be enough for a below average month so

5.7c

BFTP

Fred-- Thought you were going for a CET nearer 4c ;)
