I still disagree with him when he says a 3" refractor equates to a 6" reflector. Stupid old fool.

Happy birthday anyway.

Sir Bernard Lovell is 95 this year and looked in great health when being interviewed by Patrick last year. A combined age of nearly 180 years between the two of them!

I remember Patrick in an article saying he met a French female astronomer who saw Donati's comet back in 1858! To think you have met someone who saw a comet that was now 150 years ago.

And meanwhile, Heather Couper looks like she's 127.

My grandad could remember knowing someone who was born in the 1700s.

Happy birthday anyway.

First met Patrick when he was opening a new caravan for the disable in Selsey in mid 70s , i was around 10 and my parents asked if I could say hi (I was keen on Astronomy)

He then invited me to his place with my dad a few weeks later despite his mum being very ill

A lovely man and not a stupid old fool

Happy birthday
