Very heavy hail / sleet shower here at 9 am

3c and dropping, wind increasing, huge fluffy snowclouds heading this way,

I can see the snow falling from their bases. I expect snow in the next 15-20 mins!!!!

A couple of Snow Showers 11am and 1pm in Stanley Co Durham. Real snow settling but then melting - lots more to come I'm sure!

Snowing again here in Stanley in County Durham at 3.20pm. Settling in showers but melts between so no accumulation. Looks like quite a big shower this one. Just the start of things to come!

Sorry me again, but this is where it's happening. Stanley has steady sleet (at about 500ft) but up in Consett a few miles up the road (1000ft) they have 4-5cms already.

At long last some white stuff.. First flakes have began to fall here at 6.30pm.

Everywhere around me seems to have snow, but as yet we have no accumulation. Good forecast for tonight though..

Had a brief snow shower at around 9 a.m. this morning. None of it settled.

Just spent a delightful day painting in Nenthead, Cumbria, (1500ft above sea level). It snowed on and off from around noon until I left at 3pm. By then around an inch on the ground, though none 4 miles north in Alston. It seems very patchy. None at all in the Tyne Valley or down on the coast between Sunderland and South Shields.

just beginning to snow very lightly again,

looks like quite small, fluffy flakes,

wind picking up, very cold.

Not below freezing yet, but must be close.

I expect a few inches by the morning ,so my wife said..........

We had a brief wintry shower then hail around 15:00 this afternoon with intermittant sleety stuff this afternoon for a short while.

Have had sleety/rain/hail showers here in Dublin all day. Just had lightning in the last shower, which is an added bonus! Temp. has remained between 2C and 3C for most of the day as showers are coming in off the Irish Sea. Not optomistic about getting proper snowfall. :?
