Ooo I really really like the top one! I love silhouettes anyway but the plants are just so interesting. I actually think the teasels(?) look almost alien like.

The second photo looks like lots of spiky heads peering at the viewer :drunk:

Absolutely stunning Kev. I like the Flagster love silouettes , especially against sunsets. Look forward to seeing some more of your work :)

I really like the top photo, really nice... it's just a shame that the two heads on the right have been chopped in half.

Thanks for your comment Wibs, and I have had similar comments, but alot of my photography is cropped in such a way, I see things differently to the perfect 'rule of thirds' and 'lead in-lead out' etc ethos. I've sold over 1000 photo's on stock libraries and had a major expose in being published as the main cover for the 'International Brain Tumor Society' brochure and newsletter. Been published in 4 uk Photo magazines and all with this current cropping style

My big passion is black & white, wait til you see my b&w work, thats more experimental :)

ps, this sounded big headed' it wasn't meant to sound like this at all, sorry, just trying to explain my own 'style' my grandad said to me when I was 8 1/2 "always walk the path less trodden" and I live my life this way.

I actually agree with Wibs there. It is annoying when something is just sliding out the side of a photo. Makes you feel you are missing out on something I guess.

There aren't rules Kelly....merely opinions which is, after all, what we're trying to encourage.

I didnt mean it in that context, i ment e.g 2 thirds, object in foreground etc.. Photography in my eyes is all about experimenting.

Hey lets not start a dispute !!

I will say, if people only want to look at the same style of photo taken from several different angles then thats ok, but I try to see things differently, like my Poppies pic, I laid on my belly for that!! and the daisy pic I laid in a t shirt in 3 inches of mud to take the pic 'hand held' with a 10x mag ring because I had forgot my tripod and macro lenses (travelling ultra lite)

I agree Kelly, admittedly I'm very new to photography but I do think that they key is experimenting, playing around til you find what you feel is the best shot

I agree that experimenting is good. I think it is also true that if you have a good eye you can take a great picture whatever your camera. Often people are put off by not having the latest model etc but other people have shown what can be acheived with a little compact so just go for it I say :)

The first two pictures look like they were taken somewhere far away like the tropics not Bedfordshire (no disrespect to Bedfordshire)

Very nice.

I don't have a dedicated macro lens, I spend my time on landscapes, transport and architecture mainly.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
