Clear periods for a time last night allowed the temperature to dip low enough for a ground frost, air temperature 1.4c and the grass temperature -2.0c. The frost began to lift soon after midnight as cloud increased to overcast by the early hours with just a few spots of rain around dawn. Currently at 09:00, overcast, dry and breezy. The morning and afternoon continued windy and dull with intermittent outbreaks of light rain, which continued in to the evening. Rain 4mm, maximum temperature, 9.7c.

(and yes, I've just recently set up my first weather station ! - a La Crosse WS9035, a bit basic, but measures what I'm really interested in. Not sure I've got it all in the best places yet, just how do you get up to your gable end to fit an anemometer, I'm not the best on a ladder and it looks very high up !!!)

If you had a humidity reading you would be able to check. But the reading seems similar to what everyone else is recording at the moment is it's probably ok.

Hi all

Very gusty winds today,got to be gale force. Sunny inbetween showers of rain. Had 1 hail shower earlier but the rest are of rain. However there was 1 extremely heavy snow shower at 8 am this morning but didn't last long enough to settle. It doesnt feel that either-expecting it to feel colder. Temperatures of 7C between showers which drops to around 5C in the showers.

Here in Cranleigh Surrey, had a heavy hail shower just go over, also had lightning and a loud clap of thunder, grass and roofs nice and white though ! Think its the only "white-out" we're likely to get this winter, so going outside to make the most of it !!

A windy day with showers early and late, it was mostly sunny in between. The early evening showers contained sleet/hail and saw a decent drop in temperature from 9c to 4c.

Mostly clear now, 4c.
