    They're nice cookie. When there are more ice crystals high in the sky those halos get quite elaborate, like somebody used a compass http://www.atoptics.co.uk/halosim.htm

    I've always wanted to see an ice halo. They are very rare events.

    nicely captured Ice halo cookie.....one question though, what shooting mode did you use?....the reason I ask is that to my untrained eye, having no foreground lighting just detracts slighty from the pic
