Went up to the Lakes for a few days, On Thursday me the wife and my youngest daughter got to the summit of Skiddaw, we had light rain to start off with below 4-500m then light snow on and off for the rest of the walk - the temp at the top was -2 with wind chill of -10 wind gusts of 35-45mph. The snow was up to 18" deep near the top 3000ft+

Wow these are truly superb; I particularly like no. 10 and no. 11 (with what looks like Derwent Water in the background) and all the others which show the snowline well. Well done, these are well taken and make good viewing!

Yep

Love these Pictures, being atop looking down to the Snow Line is an amazing feat, looks like you were kitted out very well also.

Thanks Paul, the view was stunning with the contrast from above the snowline - we always go prepared for anything(almost!) the weather may throw at us, here's another couple of pics including our youngests 'snowangel' in progress!

Wow, superb pictures!

I wonder if Skiddaw will get another at least summit covering during this next cold spell set to begin this weekend?

Very nice pics, I was there last Wednesday and there was plenty of snow on the hills but it was dull and rainy :(

In that second photo above that looks like Catbells on the right, I did that last October but from Skiddaw it looks tiny!

Well done for getting up there and the photos B)

Very nice and it looks very bleak. I especially like the green fields below in a sort of triangle formed from the 2 sides of the mountain and the cloud at the top. Very arty!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
