A very snowy, but sunny scene here this morning with a good covering of 5cm of level snow, the minimum temperature –1.6c, and the ground minimum –4.5c, so a moderate frost also. At reading time, still a good covering of snow, but thawing in strong April sunshine. The morning continued sunny but very cold for April, with snow hanging around in the shade. Cloud began bubbling up which became thick enough to produce snow and hail showers during the afternoon and early evening. The top temperature rose briefly to 6.7c.
