,Have just got back from Nashville, and was privileged to have seen an amazing thunderstorm. Lots of lightening and terrific claps of thunder. Very heavy rain and wind gusts of 45mph. I must admit I was really taken back by the ferocity of the storm (especially as I have only witnessed u.k. ones.) It did get a little bit scary at one point, as a severe weather warning came up on the t.v. for our area (I was staying in a town called Gallatin which had been hit by a tornado two years ago.) My sister-in-law then had to get her weather radio out, which emits a loud beeping sound if a tornado has been sighted in the area. Believe me the reality of the situation really sunk in when I was shown where we had to go if the alarm went off.(her walk-in wardrobe in the centre of the house.) Oaklahoma had been badly hit the day before, and so I couldn't help but feel a little anxious. Great storm though, one that I won't be forgetting for a while.
