Has anybody noticed that the metoffice have named Southampton as the warmest place in the UK on the 9th of April.

This is odd as to the best of my knowledge the southampton recording stations stoped being used in the late 90's as did the Southsea one. Does anybody know what is going on? Is the southampton station being used again.

Is it the station at the National Oceanographic Centre? It's a rooftop site, so it's non-standard and shouldn't really be used in reporting daily records.

I don't know if Mayflower Park is still used, that one used to crop up a lot in weather reports in the 1970s and 1980s.
