A nice little cluster passed through here ~6-7pm. Brilliant lightning accumpnied by long rumbling thunder with the occasional house shaking boom :cc_confused:

Also a remarkable amount of rain fell.

Similar to John and Magic here.

T+L not too bad, but rain was, from memory, the worst in intensity I have seen here in Derby. Perhaps its more my memory, but either way, very heavy rainfall.

Power was off here for around 2 hours.

Thunderstorm with 10-12mm hail here between 1705 and 1715, when I got back from work at 1730 the roads were awash and the fields whitened with hail. About 10mm fell in less than 10 minutes.

Torrential rain for a good twenty minutes in Bristol this afternoon around 3pm with some hail and a rumble of thunder as the shower was dying off. Roads flooded very quickly and lots of congestion. Very slow drivers in the rain too.

Four flashes of lightning, some IC some CG from the edge of a cell heading to my south but a portion of it veering NNE to come overhead at some point. Unexpected.

Driving down the A1 to Sheffield, we had to actually leave the road and stop at Scotch corner for half an hour due to the most intense rainfall I have seen for a while. The road markings dissapeared in the immense rainfall and the wipers couldnt go fast enough, even at 30mph. Loads of other motorist sat it out too in the carpark.

At least 4 very close lightning flashes and 3'' of standing water at the services.

(I'll post this here too, hope that's ok ..

as I've never seen such an exciting sky for myself)

Hi all, had the most amazing storm here around 7.30 - 7.45 pm.

The cloud formations just ahead of it were awesome, great swirling,

rolling masses, full of menace.

The lightening soon after was huge, mostly horizontal from one

horizon to the other !

The atmosphere was, well .. electric I suppose ! lol

Difficult to get it on camera, but quite pleased with these ..

Hi B.L...Hope you are ready for round two today

Anyway, had some storms here too that started around 7.00, which was nice because, I thought the way the day was panning

out that I would miss out.

Quite a sharp thunderstorm between 16:50 and 17:30 yesterday, with two periods of intense rain and small hail.

Fair amount of cloud to cloud lightning but unusually for this location, no power cuts.

Cloud formations very similar to pics already posted.

Morning Brian, all :)

Started here without a cloud in the sky, but just had to rush my

dog walk a few mins ago, as the sky is blackening ominously.

(My dog is not troubled, but next doors' I care for, is terrified of thunder)

Wonder if I'll see such cloud formations again.

Just an addition the storm report for yesterday afternoon. A colleague of mine actually witnessed the storm and had the presence of mind to measure the hail, ( he knew I'd be interested ) the largest stones measured 18mm in diameter and there were a majority in the 12-15mm range.

Just had a short shower of rain and small hail but nothing so far to compare with yesterday.

Yikes ! That's a size. Would be painful !
