Thunder storm passed by to my south about 12:30p

Caught some of the rain for a short while. Heard 5 rumbles (closest at 25 seconds), at least 1 CG strike.

Just had a terrific thunderstorm here, plenty of overhead lightning and incredibly loud thunder, had several short powercuts. Left a temporary covering of hail which is slowly melting now in temperatures which have plummetted to 4C! What an amazing storm! :D

Just had a flash of lightning from what appears to be a small cell on the radar. Great big thunder bangs, I ducked :)

/edit - then a great hailstorm - marble sized hail - cool stuff! Haven't seen hail like that in years.

Small storm passed over south Derby about 7pmish.... just been for a drive to watch it depart and there was hailstones all over the ground around Littleover area. Looks like they must've got the core. One CG spotted and a couple of IC's (think i got one of the IC's on camera will check shortly).

(This evening at 5.45pm in Hull the hail was so fierce and large

I feared for my car bodywork, lol)

Saw what looked like a large funnel cloud over St Helens (i could see it from where i was in Wigan) about an hour ago, don't know if it was just a strange shaped cloud but it definatly looked as though it could've developed into a tornado, i didn't have a camera with me but i wish i had , has anyone seen anything tonight , and are the conditions right for tornados to form?
