Thunder and lightening here in SW Wales Carmarthenshire.

Had heavy rain just, the rain drops were huge!!!!

One of 2 dogs are scared.

Was frightening when the lightening lit up the floor in the hall.

A warm and bright start with sunny spells after a very mild night, minimum temperature 10.7c. The morning saw increasing amounts of mid level cloud. At reading time, outbreaks of mainly light rain commenced, but with a couple of moderate bursts also. The rain quickly died away leaving only 0.1mm. The morning continued mostly cloudy with just a few bright spells. The afternoon saw the cloud thinning and breaking allowing for good sunny periods, and very warm again, maximum temperature 23.6, maximum wind gust 15mph from the east.

just posted this in the May thread

its certainly breaking records in this area;

today is the hottest day of the year with a max of 26.7C(corrected). This is the hottest day day since 24/08/07 with 26.8C and the 4 th hottest day since the very hot July of 2006.

Its the highest May temperature here since 31/05/03 in the 11+years of records I have and that was 26.8C on 31/05/03, the only other day near this temperature in May in that time.

Light cloud and haze cleared by mid-morning leaving most of the rest of the day with unbroken sunshine though high cloud returned again after 4pm making the sun somewhat milky and weaker.

Thunderstorms approached before midnight and gave over 2 hours of frequent vivid lightning and lots of rumbles of thunder. Rain at times midnight-0100, with a 5 minute torrential burst with hail 1210 (2.5mm in 5 minutes). Storms moved away NW after 0100 but lightning visible to almost 0200.

Min: 11.3c @ 2300.

Yesterdays rain: 3.4mm.

Rather cloudy morning, then long sunny periods pm and very warm. Light to moderate variable breezes.

Max: 24.3c @ 1630.

Currently: Sunny and warm still.

First post here,but have aways reading the forums fror the last 3 years.

Been dismal here today. Low cloud and mist not lifting until mid afternoon. Reach only 14-15c max. Sun out now but hazy can not see the coast which is only 3 miles away.
