Nothing of note here, preliminary BGS data suggests a magnitude 4.3 although the exact magnitude, depth, location is yet to be determined.

Repeated major quakes off the coast of Antigua and Barbuda in the N Atlantic were not on a fault line or a plate border, but within the rock of the SE Portion itself, showing the stress it is enduring. Simultaneously the foot of S America is pushing westward into the Pacific, as is shown by a major quake along the Nazca border.

Interesting that nothing was picked up on any of the seismographs across the UK at the time, I had a quick look on FR24 between the hours of 2 and 3am and no military planes were transponding in the air, that leaves either space-debris or lightning strikes as 2 probable causes.

Now its hit mainstream..

I ve already heard about this quite awhile ago now its confirmed..

Why Is The Atlantic Ocean Widening While The Pacific Ocean Is Shrinking?

Everything around us is changing all the time, and while it may be at a slower pace than we’re accustomed to, it’s still happening right before our eyes!

Take the size of our oceans, for example. Did you know that the Pacific Ocean is gradually shrinking, while the Atlantic Ocean is expanding?

It’s true! But why is this happening, you might wonder?

The answer lies in the fascinating science of plate tectonics.

Map-of-South-America-with-main-cities-in
WWW.SCIENCEABC.COM

The phenomena of seafloor spreading and plate subduction are responsible for the widening and shortening of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, respectively.

Last night around 8:30 I think we had an earthquake. It was a sudden shake along with a 1 second long deep rumble and apparently Facebook was going mad with reports. Another explanation is that it was a sonic boom as a military jet flew past at the time although the shake resembled of an earthquake.
