Not too sure, but its interesting that when we were in that flurry of below average/below recent average months, the level of guesstimate dropped somewhat against the long term average - however you have to factor in winter hopecasting (guilty as charged) the same way there will now be (consciously or sub-consciously) a degree of summer warmth hopecasting.

However, not the case for this dedicated cool chica - I am going for a real bonechiller.

I`m going for a warmer June to last year at 15.6c but a similar type of month in some ways with lp over the south from time to time making it very wet and thundery but not as wet as last June hardly and the continental flow continues.

but I would caveat that Mid March to Mid April was a month long below average period - I tink about a degree or more below the long term average?

It was the coldest since 1996

I would like to raise my prediction slightly to 15.2C. The easterlies and southerlies of the first half should keep the temperature above average.

I can see this month potentially being a drier version of June 1982, not really an encouraging analogy.

I thought I would try a new method this month and right down a load of numbers and pull them out of a hat... (I obviously have too much time on my hands!)

My punt is 15.0C

hopefully I will fare a little better than my pitiful efforts so far this year...
