Wow! Have had a massive 78mm rain today I make that 3 inches in my oldie measurements.

Definitely correct as I emptied the rain guage late last night before the rain began.

A thoroughly miserable day. Heavy rain in the early hours become more showery between 7-9am only to be replaced by another bout of heavy rain which turned torrential for a time between 12.30 and 1pm. After that it slowly drier with intermittent drizzle showers but a strengthening wind which was now began to calm. All in all, another cold wet Whit Bank Holiday Monday.
