have you ever counted how many slices of bread, vegetables, etc etc that you don't use?

its all waste, many millions in this country alone, enough to help those starving i other countries if we all took note and stopped wasting food.

Heh.

My grandfather's opinion is that people these days are too greedy and selfish; they don't appreciate things as much anymore. Well he believes there is nothing wrong with getting hold of nice interesting food, but not in such amounts and consistently throughout the month where its taken for granted and not appreciated as a treat.

Back even when my dad was young; they would save the leftovers from Sunday lunch as meat\veg for sandwhiches during the week and so forth. Some vegetables were also home-grown as contributors to meals; and occasionally more exotic foods or fruits were bought as a break from any possible culinary monotony. Waste was generally regarded as very bad.
