Michael Fish and Paul S did a 15 minute (ish) interview on on a national radio station in Ireland called NewsTalk today. Sorry if the audio quality is a bit bad. The only way I had of recording this today was in my car with a camcorder that I carry incase I encounter any severe wether here in Southern Ireland :wallbash:

You can download an MP3 of the interview here..... Michael is funny in this one.

Thanks for bringing that interview to the forum CID, very interesting to hear Michael and Paul S account of the recent very exciting storm chase, although it does sound very tiring as Michael mentions, just recently I drove from Las Vegas to Yosemite in one day, about 600 to 700 miles, I was absolutely shattered, to do that almost every day for 5 weeks

I know the feeling Paul. I did the same journey in reverse last year on the Friday of labour day weekend in a 30 ft RV the drove like a wheelbarrow. I think it took me 12 hours or more and was absolutley shattered too. Had some great thunder storms on route though! :)

    Hi again CID,

Yes the drive took something like 12 hours for me as well, I drove a Cadillac, which accommodated 4 of us including baggage quite easily, we travelled hours via Death Valley with temperatures over 39c, then the rest to Yosemite, where the eventual temperature dropped to 2c, an amazing change of climate from hot desert to Arctic in 12 hours, we even made snowballs, though very tiring was extremely invigorating, I thought I had woken up until I was pulled over by the police for quote ‘erratic driving near dangerous cliff edges’ :) I thought I was driving ok, :) but was obviously more tired than I thought, just goes to show how careful you need to be when driving long distance.

    Paul

    • Exceptional warmth for western Europe as October begins

There'll be exceptionally warm temperatures for the time of year affecting much of western Europe during the coming days, but that warmth will only graze the UK for now. Next weekend may see a more direct hit with the potential for southerly winds to draw some of that heat north and take temperatures into the mid or high-twenties. Read the full update here
