Tell the truth its about time we had a new species, we have lost more than enough, us humans...

I enjoy entomology, the study of insects associated with ancient Oak trees is part of my job as a forestry consultant/manager.

I enjoy the privilege of helping to look after the oldest oak on the isle of wight and its colony of rare insects.

Was reading a Forestry Commision book recently Russ, an interesting section in there about the different amounts of insects various trees support. The oaks clearly support the most diverse and abundant habitats.

I rescued a critter from a bucket of water today..............a stripey ladybird sized bug but wow it could jump!

You'd jump too Hannegan, if you'd been trying to keep your nose above water for so long and then suddenly a great giant friendly gurning hand reached down and libererated you from that sticky meniscus watery hell hole.
