Finaly the wind came from the right direction (no rain comming trough my open window).

It was fantastic... many Earth-ground discharges with these photos as result.

This is a radarpic of the storm just as it is passing over Amersfoort, Netherlands.

And now the lightningphotos. Enjoy!

So that's where the so-called 'Thundery breakdown' yesterday was hiding. In the Netherlands! :whistling:

Only had my mobile phone on me anyway as I was out on the lash. (As you do on a weekend! :D ) So if that had came overhead, my pics would not have been nearly as good and of the quality that you've kindly posted, Jurgen.

Well done and thanks again. Love that last pic by the way. :)

Phil.

Brilliant, I think I have forgotten how to photograph lightning, its been that long since we have had any worth getting the camera out for.

Very clear those shots Jurgen, well done.

Nice work Jurgen, the last one is a belter! Were you just quick on the button or did you have a camera cable/remote set up?

Put my camera (Canon EOS 350D) equiped with a 28-55mm Kit lens on a tripod used a cameracable and put it on manual (M), swiched off autofocus and used these settings 100 iso and 20sec exposure f: 5.6.

I'll give that a go next time. The only occasion I have had to try lightning photography recently was when it was out at sea so couldn't get the focus quite right. I believe you gave me some pointers then, so lets keep the fingers crossed for an opportunity soon!

tot ziens!
