Despite light showers overnight, it has been the warmest night of the year so far with the minimum temperature only falling to 17.3c. The day dawned with low cloud and mist over the fields. The cloud cleared quickly and the morning then saw unbroken sunshine with the temperature exceeding 21c by 09:00 GMT. Becoming hot again by late morning and through the afternoon with a few cumulus clouds. Maximum temperature of 28c. The easterly wind became strong for a short time during the evening gusting to 29mph, with showers in the vicinity. A further rain storm overnight produced an intense downpour, producing 17.1mm in around 1 hour between 02:30 hrs and 03:30 hrs.
