    After a warm night with a minimum temperature of only 15.9c, the day dawned bright, though with a good deal of high and midlevel and later low level cloud making the sun very hazy and intermittent, warming up quickly even so, though very humid with the temperature at 09:00 GMT at 19.5c, surpassing yesterdays high of 19.1c. The morning and afternoon saw a good deal of cloud, threatening showers, but only a few spots were felt here, there was some sunny spells during the afternoon also making it feel very warm and humid at times. Maximum temperature 22.8, maximum wind speed 17mph, ESE.

    Yet another 'nice' summers days despite what the models and charts are showing. Dry, warm and humid with sunny intervals until the end of the afternoon when the wind veered NW and brought the temperature down a few degrees.

    How cheated do I feel as I sit here looking at towering cumulus and cumulonimbus somewhere over north Notts and Linc's?

    torrential rainstorm here..started at 21h with a huge lightening bolt and have recorded 25.4mm in 2 hours. rain slowly dying down now.
