Went storm chasing , nearly got struck!

Saw some lightning towards the west and south west kent and kept on trying to take a photo having no luck at all however i didn't give up. As the storm got closer i got this shot

I decided to go out in the fields ( madness ) with hardly any light pollution , lightning was getting closer and closer. There was a bright flash that was SO strong it blinded me and my dad , i had to close my eyes and couldn't see for a few secs. Right after that an almighty bang and all the power went out , it was right above us.

Next stop was towards the coast but the rain just got too intense and decided to head back home. On the way back more lightning and a quick stop on the roadside was needed.. The lightning was very intense again.

Very lucky , i think if i the lightning was c-g rather than above us we'd probably be dead....... But was it worth it? YES! :):shok:

Impressive stuff Neil

We drove down to Minnis Bay earlier about 22:30 and there were a couple of cars down there - at least I presume they were storm watching and not dogging! :shok: Does provide a nice dark landscape along our coast so its ideal for storm photography - providing of course that its night time + theres a storm hehe
