After a cooler night than recently the day dawned bright and sunny. The sunshine soon disappeared behind an advancing layer of high and midlevel cloud, so by reading time it was completely overcast with light rain setting in, accompanied by a freshening southerly breeze. Rain, mainly light continued through the morning and in to the early afternoon, there was a drier interlude around mid afternoon, but more rain moderate at times followed during the early evening. Dull and cloudy throughout with a fresh southerly wind. Top temperature 17.8c, maximum wind gust 21.8mph SSE.
