No rain here today but dawn to dusk altostratus - not even a hint of sunshine. Also, despite the temperature topping out at 19.7c it still felt quite chilly in the wind, and as far as I am concerned, that is the first sign of impending Autumn.

5C cooler here, max yesterday 14.7C drizzle some mod rain at times in afternoon driven on by strong gusty wind. Dull low cloud drizzle/light rain wind light though this morning.

A poor day for going out thus far cloudy and rather chilly really well below average in terms of temperatures, expecting more of the same going into the weekend.

Currently 15.8C which is the lowest temperature in the last 24 hours

Kind of a nothing day at the moment with 100% cloudcover and occasional drizzle blowing around on the SW breeze. Very humid and temp at 18c.

Yesterday the cloud began to clear at about 13.00 so I wonder if the same will happen again to leave a fine (and potentially very warm) afternoon.

Feels very warm with muggy dewpoints down in the midlands even though its only 19C with overcast conditions , looks disappointingly cloudy until friday which hopefully should be sunny with temps rising into the mid to late 20's C in the south.

This is turning out to be a very dissapointing end of august in the west holiday weather I think not at the coast, no sun and drizzle at night and mornings in a very moist west/SW flow and a thick low cloudsheet just very mild at night temp now 15.8c

Still bits of drizzle in the wind now and 2mm last night.

Back to cloudy again albeit warm & muggy. 20.8c the max so far. A bit of sun would really help now!

20C, as maximum here today, cloudy though and feeling distinctly chilly in the breeze. You can really tell were heading into Autumn because even a fairly decent setup with fairly high humidity cannot make it feel warm out there.

Just made 16.9c today and theres also some mid-level cloud about today aswell as the low cloud just about broke up to leave a few brief gaps no sun though.

Now it`s more like november with it being rather dark.

Another bobbins day, cloudy, intermittent drizzle, temp 16oC .........2008, the year when this area had 1 week of summer ( wc 21/07/08) !!!!!!!! and thats no exageration it really isnt...worse of all I was working 8 nights the whole week & missed it!

PS.......does the fact that we have had a fairly cool summer mean that sea temperatures will also be cool and this could influence the weather in Autumn/ winter? I hope soI hope so, coz now we've had no summer, the last thing we want is no winter!

This has been an awful month in west Wales! That bad is it that my week just passed in Coventry felt almost summery with a high of just 22c and 'only' 25mm of rain, and no more than 7 hours of sunshine on any day.

Because we arrived home to a chill damp house, testimony to a high deficiency of sun and warmth, as well as to much wet weather. Indeed, the rain gauge had 59mm in it for the 8 days to yesterday evening; the temperatures had barely exceeded 20c throughout; and, judging by weatheronline 25 hours sunshine would be the absolute total for those past 8 days!

The sunshine levels must be exceptionally low here this month! Temperatures by day have been very poor, a high of just 22c to date, and the vast majority have been below 20c. 160mm rainfall is high but not exceptional, though the higher parts will be far higher, approaching 300mm, Capel Curig has has an awful lot for example.

I think today sums up this month here, dull and dark for the most part, drizzle at times, rather windy and chill, a maximum of 18c.

EDIT: Capel Curig is on approximately 360mm from a reckon up from weatheronline's graph!

From what I can see this cloudy damp spell looks like continuing until friday anyway now and the S-ly plume comes friday night/saturday which should be the sunniest day hopefully, then it breaks down saturday night sunday with thundery rain/showers so much for the settled spell that was shown.!!!

This cloud will take some shifting too now so it could end up the dullest august on record.
