Hi Pat

Closer to the time we will let you know where we will meet you, when you land at DFW Airport you get the Free Shuttle Bus to Car Rentals and we meet you there, it is so easy and simple and I have never lost a person yet :(

If there is a Storm threat within 100 miles of DFW Then we WILL Chase it on the landing day, it has never happened yet but because you need to stay up to get acclimatised anyway the Jetlag is not an issue as you land at 1430pm local time in the US (6 hours behind the Uk)

What better way than to get off an aeroplane and see a Supercell within a few hours of Landing

Hope this helps out

Paul S

yes sounds good...cant wait....Never been to DWF before...That was my concern of not finding you lot.had images of me Storm chasing by my self and..lol...thx

I dont wont to take too many Questions up as I have loads......

But will we have a chance to get out of vehicle even if the lightning is close.....It might sound stupid Question but was wondering if or how much is sitting in the car watching than outside....Obviously will take your advice as the events are happening..If the Ts are close...I mean say there is a shelter not far from the car....Will it be alright to film there than the car...Or I suppose this all depends on how bad the storm is.........Shame really if I saw you at the pub I could explain better...

I'm seriously thinking about going storm chasing in the USA in 2010, I'm starting to save (which is hard when your living off student loans) any advice on how to get started trying to find groups to go with and things. I have no idea where to even start trying to work that out haha!

You could do worse than go on a Net Weather tour. They are very professional with regards to safety of the group and are as technically equipped as all the other tours

Also the tour has time for fun too - I was a first time stormchaser in 2008 with NW and had a great time - perfect balance between chasing, being on holiday and having fun.

I'm hoping to be able to meet someone at Heathrow, I guess most of us will be on the same flight?

I've never even been on a plane before so the thought of getting through Heathrow on my own is a bit daunting!

Thanks! I'll look more in to it, have to find the funds first, been living off 8pence noodles and beans on toast to pay for it. Well worth it I think :)

Hi, how far in advance should I be booking flights? Also who will be best to fly with?

Sorry I will probably have a few questions, having never been on a plane and never been outside of the UK apart from a school trip to France :o

Hi Mark,

I would book your tickets any time before christmas as the fares are cheaper at the mo and will only go up the later you leave it at the mo it is around 400 pounds with BA which is who we are flying with as we have found AA to be really crap. hope this helps you out a bit anything else let us know

Ian

That's not bad I looked a couple of months ago and it looked like 500-600 pounds, but it's around 430 at the moment so i'll book before Christmas like you say.

Thanks Ian!

Hi, I'm pretty new on here but it seems such a friendly place that I've already decided to start saving to hopefully join you on one of the chases in 2010, but must admit that I am a bit worried as I only have a basic knowledge of meteorology. I've always had a fascination with severe weather and have always wanted to do a chase but never seemed to find one that I was comfortable to go on, but seeing that you go chases on here as a forum, I was drawn to commit myself to it. The only thing is that I'm definitely not as knowledgable as a lot of you on here. My question is, will it be a problem that my knowledge isn't great, or will you all be really gentle with me?

Thanks

Selina

Hi Selina, you don't need a lot of weather knowledge at all, Paul and the team are great at explaining what's happening and answering any questions the guests have, you'll have a blast

Would agree with Paul, Selina, I enjoyed a great holiday in 2008 on the chase without specialist knowledge.

Some people who went were even frightened of lightning, eh Paul?;)

Just seen we're going in a tour bus, I was looking forward to those nice dodge 4x4's!

Anyway i'm really starting to get excited, but a bit nervous too!

Flights seem to be getting cheaper every time I check, now £395 return, which seems good to me.

Just wondering if anyone has booked their flights yet?

The tour i'm on is from 8th - 19th May, so will these be the arrival and departure days, or will we need to get there before or leave after these dates?

Here's what i'm looking at...

Would that be suitable?

Thanks and I hope you don't mind the questions, I haven't got a clue, I haven't even got a passport! :D
