Very wet and windy with torrential downpours for much of the afternoon...

Some very heavy thundery downpours yesterday giving flash flooding on the roads again, the countryside is horrendous in parts, knee high water in low lying areas, today more of the same weather we have suffered recently just its cooler, fresher, windier, and still overcast.

the first sunny morning in ages

Totally agree with that! Every morning last week began (and most days stayed) dull/misty - even Saturday which became glorious. This morning was a beautiful one.

In fact apart from a blustery shower for half an hour around lunchtime, which was detached from the large rain area currently over the Bristol Channel/Wales/Midlands regions, it's been a very fine, bright day with an increasingly brisk SW wind. Pleasantly warm too at 19c currently and with more sunny spells to come 20c is possible.

After an ok morning it's now dull, damp and cold at only 16.4c falling. And with that lump of raining heading my way, it makes me wish I brought my coat for the ride home in half hours time...

Nice wall to wall sunshine here now after a morning containing sunny intervals, notice that the dew temp has dropped so i wonder if the dry air is taking the moisture out of the clouds creating these longer sunny spells?. Noticetable breeze but still feels pleasant enough and its nice to see some sunshine for a change.
