This morning dawned grey but surprisingly dry, however, we had some preety hefty beefty showers during late morning. This afternoon has seen a major turnaround plenty of blue skies and strong september sunshine with no showers, definately needed after a miserable 48 hours.

Early mist/fog has lead to a mostly cloudy but dry day here so it is slightly better than what BBC weather has been predicting so far, one of those days where you can get those outdoor plans done without much fuss. The wind is coming from the North and does feel cool but at least it was nothing like yesterday morning though.

Lol my post could not be so different to Damian's post above despite living not far from each other, all i can see is alot of cloud around today, there was some sunny moments but not alot and now it is just cloudy and quite boring out there.

Unpleasant even though it has been mostly dry!

Mild last night, trouble is hardly risen today. Dull all day, odd spot of drizzle until lunchtime, bit of a NW breeze.

Min: 11.9c @ 0500.

Max: 14.9c @ 1600.

Rain yesterday: 3.1mm (86mm so far September).

Currently: Ditto!

Temp: 13.8c.

Pressure: 1010 mbar, rising.

Looks like one of those classic North East days where the inland parts get sunshine and showers while the coast "escapes" with dry cloudy weather and a cold wind. Here in Norwich we've been having sunshine without the showers, and it feels fairly warm out in the sun.

Yes, perhaps the bits of sun I got whilst on the quayside this afternoon around 3pm has affected my overall stance on how I have percieved today, your quite right to say that cloud has been the main feature of the day, but for a couple of hours or so this early afternoon it was rather pleasant in Newcastle city centre, conditions right now have taken a turn for the worse, we've just had a shower and the clouds have taken on a much more darker hue, all in all quite a topsy turvy day.

Sun did come out briefly still only got upto 13.7c then 13c now and forgot to say it`s the wettest it`s been water table that is since april 30th/may 1st here so it`s very high indeed for early sept.

A cool NW wind and still cloudy but dry at least.

Heavy rain this morning, quieter cloudy afternoon, definately an autumnal chill in the air today, hopefully drying up next weekend with some nice autumnal weather, will take weeks and weeks for the ground to become bone dry though

We had a wet spring ground was soft then with springs of water coming out of our yard/ rocks, just like today happens when it this wet had 1 inch on april 30th from a similar tracking slow moving low to yesterdays and water lasts 1 to 3 days after it`s rained to start with about 2/3 times a year usually in winter, it`s a great guide to how wet the ground is here. then the river usually floods.

Well I could almost count today as an autumn day as the temperature only just reached 15C this afternoon. With a high of 15.3C, leaden skies and a cool NW wind, it felt really quite horrid. Maybe tomorrow will be a bit better before a wet Tues-Thurs.
