Is that light dusting on the Cairngorm webcam (Ptarmigan) this morning, or just a heavy frost?

http://www.winternet-scotland.co.uk/webcam...ain_webcams.htm

One looks like a dusting to me.

Fresh snow on all the Cairngorm webcams now - newly fallen from what I can tell. There was no snow on any but the Ptarmigan one first thing.

This one is a particularly lovely view today:

Yes I happened to be viewing these cams as snow fell, the flakes coated the cam a bit on the bottom 2 cams on the site. It was around 11:30am it fell.

Some nice snow on the Drumochter Cam :D

http://www.trafficscotland.org/lev/index.aspx

Yes, snow now appearing also at Slochd (406m) and the Rannoch Moor area on the A82 (340m).

Biting wind in Aberdeen at the moment, I'd say the snowfall level is around 150-200m at the moment.

Would have to be lucky to see any showers coming across the mountains into this area though.

Live view across Katschberg village towards the Hohe Tauren National Park. Note the ski runs alraedy filling in. They will be by this time next week as a lot of snowfall is forecast over the coming weekend.

Fresh Snow on the Cairngorm webcams:

http://www.winternet-scotland.co.uk/webcam...ain_webcams.htm

Ignore the first one of these cams, as that seems to be stuck in the past.

Snow on the usual suspects, so far, on the Traffic cams - Helmsdale, Drumtochter, Foudland East nr Huntly, Slocdh, Ballindalloch.

Morning,

Snow arrived overnight in Hohe Tauren. Currently -10C at 1600M asl. Blowing snow and more forecast for the next 3 days with temperatures remaining well below zero. Could be a major storm this one.

Morning all,

None stop snowfall for 24 hours and still its comes. Opening of the ski-ing season over the weekend but too much snow combined with poor visisbilty.

Morning all,

Buried in the white stuff. It does not want to stop this year. Second weekend of the ski-ing season. Too much for the piste bashers to cope with !

yes its a superb start to the season Paul for pretty much the whole of the Alpine areas.

Just hope it lasts and the cold is there when I go the second week in January!

Morning JH,

Stunning this morning. Temp down to -16C overnight. Not long for you to go now. Looking good. By the way the slopes remain very quiet at the moment. Should get busy later with the fine weather. No snow melt here.
