    Great pics there WM, must say though, the sea don't look all that rough which is pretty surprising considering the wind gusts up there today and looking at the skyline in the pics, its got that typical wintry look to them. :lol:

    Nice pics there weathermaster, reminds me when I went over to Stornoway on a Caledonian MacBrayne many years ago......It was a fairly calm crossing at the time, Im lucky to report!! hehe

    "Sea state" is (officially, anyway) related to mean wind speed rather than gusts.

    Hi thanks for the comments,

    The reason why the sea isnt so rough is because the wind is from the north, its blowing down the hill into the bay if it was from the south it would be more rough as the waves get blown into the bay but then the boat wouldn't struggle.
