Rough Seas And Bumpy Landings

    Stormy seas off the Wellington coastline:

    (This was in a summer! I would not like to be onboard that.)

    Compilation of plane landings at Wellington Airport:

    Two from last October

    A rather windy period (as is common for that month), with gusts getting to 88mph in the city one day, and for 6 days there were gusts of at least 78mph, so very disruptive to flights.

    But it's not always like that:

    Unfortunately, landing from the south, which is less scenic than landing from the north.

    Wellington Airport is one of the most frequently windy around, with 1 in 2 days recording a gust of at least 32 knots.

    It also gets sea fog at times which tends to linger for long periods.
