    Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, near Ripon, North Yorkshire. Yorkshire’s first World Heritage Site is a huge estate of beauty, contrasts and surprises including the largest abbey ruins in the country and one of England’s most spectacular Georgian water gardens.

    It looks a great place to visit,particularly liked piccy no'2

    It is really worth a visit. There is a artifical lake and ornamental pools built in the 1900s as well. Truely beautiful place to go to and I think the National Trust's most visited. They have concerts there sometimes but never had chance to go.

    Lovely pictures WS, really captured the beauty of Fountains Abbey :)

    I live about 20 minutes away from Fountains. Amazing place, must have been there at least 50 times. Here's one of mine to add:
