Astronomers believe they have captured the first ever directly viewed images of planets in other solar systems

    http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/0811...-exoplanet.html

The first image, viewed in infra-red wavelengths shows a triple planetary system orbiting the star HR8799 in the constellation Pegasus approx 130 light years, and the second image in visible light showing a young gas giant clearing a path through planetary debris around the star Fomalhaut approx 25 light years away

    A remarkable breakthrough!
