22nd November pictures:

Showers on the 21st turned increasingly through sleet to wet snow during the evening, also with the odd flash of lightning to the east of UEA, and to proper snow overnight, but it took until 7am for the snow to settle. Snow showers continued during the morning, but there was a partial thaw around midday during the sunny intervals in between the snow showers.

However, a whiteout at 2:30pm renewed cover and heavy snow showers continued for the rest of the day, through until midnight, giving level depth of about 3cm on grass with drifts to 4-5cm.

23rd November pictures:

I expected a bit of snow this morning, but certainly not 3 inches of it! Snow became increasingly heavy, producing further whiteouts, and blanketed the campus in 7-8cm level snow with drifts to 10cm in places. The entire band fell as snow, and it warmed up almost immediately after the snow stopped.

I certainly made the most of it. On Saturday a group of us built snowmen in the morning, and then there were snowball fights in the evening. But Sunday was even better, with sledging, snowmen scattered all over the campus, and some attempts at making uber-snowballs. Some feature here, during the afternoon when it brightened up and a slow thaw started.

Some members requested photos- well hopefully this should be more than enough lol!

PS does anyone know how to lay out photos as you like, say, groups of 4? The HTML keeps knacking in for me.

Thought i'd share some images with you all of the snow in Aberdeenshire. These images were taken on Saturday, however, there was another 4" of snowfall on Saturday night. The average depth was about 9" by sunday lunchtime. Its been raining but not much of the snow has melted. I heard that there is a sever weather warning for snow today in Aberdeenshire and "yes" its been snowing again this morning. The picture with the footprint shows how deep the snow was on saturday, my feet are size 9's so you can get a better idea. Add another 4" onto it to get the real depth after Saturday night.
