Yet another dusting of snow here in the early hours of the morning, also had a few light sleety showers through the day.

Its turned frosty and icy here in the last hour.

Very heavy rain and wind at sea level here, but heavy snow inland.

Surprised that it was rain in Laurencekirk. Light snow showers here though the temp has risen two degrees in last couple of hours to 1.5C. Still a few inches of snow on the ground but it has softened a bit.

Edit. Latest shower is sleety and temp is up to 1.6C. It was -1.5C at 4:30pm.

Surprisingly snowy day here, so much so that I struggled to get over the moor and back home. About 5cm level now, following a couple of hours of sometimes moderate wet snow around teatime / early evening. Rather like March 2005 I suspect that this reasonable fall will be very localised. Both this morning and this afternoon we've benefitted from some attenuation in the flow. Certainly the heaviest pre-Christmas snowfall we've had here for at least ten years.

Another morning, another covering of snow ;)

Had a fairly heavy snow shower yesterday evening and also one in the early hours which has left about a 2cm covering.

Stop the presses!! I cannot remember the last time this happened but it happened overnight and I can scarcely believe it!

There has been a fall of new snow........on top of old snow :):) :o :o :o :o !!!

A further 2cm this morning which fell on top of what was left of the 1cm that fell yesterday (about half of it remained).

Had a further moderate 50p flake shower between 8 and 9 last night in Hanley Stoke on Trent giving a further 1cm giving the late night opening shops that extra Christmassy look! Very crunchy underfoot on campus this morning-no thawing at present.
